As Russia’s war against Ukraine continues, families across the country remain in constant motion—forced from their homes, separated from communities, and struggling to restore basic conditions for their children. Ukraine Power recently responded to a request for support from a foster family displaced from the eastern Luhansk region, now resettled in central Ukraine.
After fleeing their hometown due to the invasion, the family—caring for nine children—relocated multiple times before being offered shelter in a government-purchased home in Kirovohrad Region. The facility was designated for internally displaced residents of the Lysychansk area. While it offers safety and a place to stay, the house remains under renovation and lacks many daily essentials.
Building a Safe Space from Scratch
The Kurpas family is now working to transform the unfinished house into a supportive home. Together with the children, they are taking part in repairs, organizing living spaces, and creating a nurturing environment where healing and growth are possible.
However, due to the forced evacuation and continued instability, they were unable to bring basic household necessities. Their current living conditions remain limited, and urgent needs remain unmet.
Providing Stability Through Support
The children in this household are growing up in an environment rooted in compassion, safety, and resilience. While their physical home is still taking shape, the sense of belonging and care is already strong—thanks to the unwavering dedication of their foster parents.
Yet, practical challenges remain. From managing daily hygiene to navigating school during widespread power outages, every day brings new obstacles that require immediate, material solutions. Ukraine Power is committed to helping meet those needs—quickly and effectively.
